All of our faculty are trained in their specific dance styles with the understanding that no two bodies are alike and will work with your child to get them dancing at the right level.
Jazz/Hip Hop/Street Funk/Dance Conditioning
Lisa is a New England native and began studying dance at the age of 6 with Sally Gould Dance Center, Debbie Hanley, Donna Miceli Dance Center and Lisa Pilato Dance Center. Lisa was the founder of the University of Massachusetts/Lowell dance team program in 1988 and it is still going strong! Upon graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, she toured professionally with rap artist Billy Blackstone as a back up dancer. Lisa also coached the UNH dance team for three years taking them to Nationals twice. She has been in the fitness industry for over 22 years. Having been a personal trainer and a Ms. Fitness competitor she understands the development of the dancers body. Lisa has continued her training at the Jeanette Neill Dance Studio and Broadway Dance center to stay with the current techniques and genre's. She studies with professionals such as Brian Friedman, Yanis Marshall, Dean Lee, Derek Mitchell, Matt Steffanina, Mandy Moore, Ray Leaper, Twitch, Kenny Wormald and many more. Lisa specializes in commercial jazz and hip-hop, but is also trained in all other styles. Lisa is a proud mother of four and has been married 22 years. Loving the Portsmouth NH dance studio life.

Shayla graduated from the University of New Hampshire earning her Bachelor’s degree with honors in Dance and Deaf Studies. At UNH, Shayla was a principal dancer in the UNH Dance Company. She specializes in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, and aerial. Shayla's eighteen years of dance training began at Dance Designs in Hyannis, MA. She spent eight years competing in both regional and national dance competitions. Along with her studio training, Shayla spent two years with the prestigious Tremaine Apprentice Company. She traveled the U.S. with some of the most respectable and well known teachers such as Joe Tremaine, Keri La Grand, Laurie Johnson, and Jeff Amsden. Currently, Shayla performs aerial silks and lyra for Portsmouth Music Hall events. She has also taught at a number of studios in the area. Shayla performed as Weird Al Yankovic's back up dancer. Most recently, Shayla has danced on stage with renowned choreographer Tessandra Chavez at Pulse Teachers Convention. Loving the Portsmouth NH dance studio life.

Anthony Bounphakhom is a hip-hop dancer/choreographer. He has experience in choreographing flash mobs, local artists, dance companies/crews, and various events. He also directed and produced a show called “Within A Dream” which all proceeds were donated. “The Dreamers” which is a team built of aspiring professional dancers/choreographers was created by Anthony through LA Beatz. These students performing at various shows and creating concept videos. Anthony's 10 years of dance training consists of training with Phunk Phenomenon, Expressive Movement, Dance Teacher’s Summit NYC, Monster of Hip-Hop, Pulse Tour Dance Convention, and various workshops. He has also performed at events such as Prelude Dance Competition, UNH Best Dance Crew, and many local events. Anthony is passionate about being able to go after something you love, and he hopes to pass it on through his love of dance. Having competed in various dance competitions such as Prelude Urban Dance Competition and local talent shows, Anthony decided to share his passion for the art of Hip-hop to others.
Abigail began her ballet training at the age of three at Brixham Dance Works. At the age of eight Abigail continued her training at Ballet New England under teachers such as David Drummond, Angela V. Carter, and Elisa Gerasin. She has also trained with Amy and Michael Tevlin, and Barbara Pontecorvo. At age eleven she joined Ballet New England's youth company program beginning her training towards a professional career. She has performed as a soloist in multiple productions such as "An 1836 Portsmouth Nutcracker" as Snow Queen, Clara, and Arabian lead; "Cinderella" as the Summer Fairy; and "The Sleeping Beaty" as the Fountain Fairy. Abigail has also had training from a summer intensive program with Boston Ballet. In 2013 and 2014 she performed as a company member with Great Bay Academy of Dance and since then she continued her training taking open classes with ballet companies such as Dimensions in Dance, Portland Ballet Company, and Jose Mateo Ballet Theater.

Alyssa is currently attending Northern Essex Community College and will graduate in Spring of 2018 earning her Associates degree in Dance Education. She is also still continuing to dance at a variety of studios continuing her training. She specializes in ballet, jazz, modern, and pointe. Alyssa’s nineteen years of training began at Bedford Dance Center. Alyssa has also done a large amount of auditions and was accepted into Summer Intensives such as Bolshoi Ballet, The Rock School for Dance, Burklyn Ballet Theatre, Nutmeg Conservatory, and much more. Along with her studio training, Alyssa spent almost two years with the Huntsville Ballet Company in Alabama. Alyssa has performed in many productions such as “The Nutcracker Ballet” as Snow Queen, Dew Drop, and Spanish. Also performed in the Royal Ballet version of “Alice in Wonderland” as the Red Queen (Queen of Hearts). Sleeping Beauty as one of the Fairies, and many more. Alyssa really loves and enjoys teaching all ages, and can’t wait to start her career.
Emily has been at LA Beatz since it's start. After graduating high school she is continuing her education in dance and business. Emily is an award winning soloist from past seasons competition team. Her energy and spunk is contagious while she teaches our incoming Little Funky Beatz and young hip hop students. We are thankful that our highly trained students choose to come back and share their love for dance with our incoming young dancers.
